Greenjets begins US operation Syracuse, NY via the GeniusNY program
Syracuse, 14th July 2023:
Why The United States, and why now?
Greenjets is targeting sales into the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) market; a sector of aviation which is being developed predominantly in the United States. Some examples of companies in this space include: Joby, Archer & Beta (air taxi market); Eviation & Universal Hydrogen (regional commuter space); Elroy Air & Pyka (large drones); finally, a number of innovators such as Firestorm labs populate the small drone ecosystem. In light of the robust product portfolio Greenjets has developed to supply into these markets, on top of a striking level of interest from companies across the East & West coasts, we are confident that now is the time to expand.
Why GeniusNY?
Our first products, which are now being delivered to customers, are intended for the drone/UAS industry. Based out of Syracuse, NY, Genius NY is the world's largest drone/UAS accelerator program. Many consider this to be the 'Y Combinator' of the drone industry. We see this as an invaluable tool for placing our current IPM products into the US market. The programme not only invests a minimum of $500K (up to a maximum of $1M) in its portfolio companies, but also provides them a unique 12-month experience as outlined below:
The Tech Garden
Over the next 12 months, Greenjets will have office spaces, workshops, as well as recruiting, funding, legal and financial support at The Tech Garden in Downtown Syracuse. The Tech Garden is Central NY's premier technology incubator supported by CentreState CEO. It is home to various accelerator programmes as well as a diverse cohort of the most exciting early-stage companies in Upstate NY.

Mentorship
Syracuse is home to a robust aerospace and defence ecosystem, consisting of large primes such as Lockheed Martin and Saab, as well as government bodies like Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and new entrants including Hidden Level. Many industry veterans and entrepreneurs from this ecosystem take an active role in the GeniusNY program, helping the companies to navigate through supply chain challenges, certification regulations, government funding opportunities, contracting, ITAR and hiring. This network is invaluable and will be sure to keep Greenjets from making costly mistakes.

NUAIR: One-of-a-kind UAS Test SiteClose to Syracuse is NUAIR, which is based at Griffiss International Airport. NUAIR is one of the 6 FAA approved UAS test sites with a 50 miles UAS corridor to its name. Several drone, eVTOL and military customers use this test site regularly. As part of the programme, Greenjets will have access to use this test site for product testing along with its US customers.

Access to the NY VC Ecosystem
Second to San Francisco, New York is home to the largest VC Ecosystem in the US. Genius NY has deep connections within this network and Greenjets will get the opportunity to meet and pitch to VCs every few weeks during the programme.

Potential Partnerships
Greenjets will be surrounded by UAS Innovators, including previous Genius NY companies that have established themselves in Syracuse. Almost all of these companies are developing complimentary UAS technologies for potential end customers. Through regular catchups with the Genius NY cohort, we aim to gain deep insight into our future customer base. Greenjets will also travel to various UAV/UAS conferences in the US along with Genius NY teams over the next 12 months.
Anmol Manohar, CEO at Greenjets, said: "It is incredibly humbling for us to be part of the GeniusNY's aerospace and defence ecosystem, with access to top VCs, aerospace mentors, one-of-a-kind test sites, as well as potential partners & customers across the US. We look forward to making the most of this opportunity"
Kara Jones, Director at Genius NY, said, ‘Greenjets has not only come to us with a compelling propulsion technology, but also a compelling strategy and customer traction to expand into the US. We look forward to accelerating their plans in Central NY through GENIUS NY’
